Website: http://cbpassiveincome.com/
The sales video tells us that CB Passive Income (CBPI) is yet another system to make money on auto-pilot. It was set up by Patric Chan, who has been an internet marketer since 2003.
Who is Patric Chan?
Patric Chan is a self-made internet marketing millionaire. Having built his business Patric has taught his techniques to thousands of students with books, internet courses, and live training.
He has written several books, including Wake Up Millionaire and Clicking Cash of which he is the co-author. Mr. Chan has given talks in several countries as an expert on internet marketing.
What is CB Passive Income?
The sales page tells us that all we have to do is give away a free report! After that, Patric Chan and his team will take over and do the rest.
In real language, this is an email marketing system where you promote a web page that you are given, to get subscribers. Once you have your list Patric Chan takes care of the selling to earn you a passive income.
CB stands for ClickBank because Mr.Chan promotes ClickBank products to the list that you create.
Who is ClickBank Passive Income for?
This system is aimed at newcomers to internet marketing, but could also be for more experienced marketers who are looking to add another income stream to their business.
While the system is especially for newbies (everything is done for them) except for marketing their squeeze page, they won’t learn much with this system. So, for anyone looking to create a real online business don’t sign-up for this, try a training program that teaches you legitimate internet marketing.
Here is a list from the sales page of tasks that you will not need to do:
From this, you get the idea that you can earn money with this system without doing very much work. Of course, this is not true.
How it works
CB Passive Income
After you sign-up with CB Passive Income, you are given a squeeze page and it is your job to get people to opt-in to your mailing list. To entice people to sign up to your list a “valuable report” written by Mr. Chan on how to make money online is given away.
When you have some people on your list Patric Chan sends them emails with other “valuable reports” and also offers promoting Clickbank products with your affiliate link. When someone buys a product you earn some money.
Patric uses Clickbank products because he says they are legitimate good products and the commission is usually around 50%. In reality, Clickbank products are very often of poor quality.
CB Passive Income version 2.0
The major change with version 2.0 is you will be able to give away an entire internet marketing training to get subscribers. This includes software called The Offer Finder App.
With the Offer Finder App, users can search for products to promote to earn commissions. The software is designed to display products that are known to be good sellers. For you to get commissions your affiliate ID has been embedded into the software.
Changes in version 2.0 are:
- you have the option to give away a free report or software to build your list
- additional training to get traffic
- new promotional tools
- better tracking system and more…
This image shows how the system is meant to work.
PROS & CONS
Pros
- $1 14 day trial
- 60-day money-back guarantee
- Creating a list and sending offers is a legitimate way to make money online
- Ready-made squeeze page
- Free hosting
Cons
- Sales video hype
- All you have to do is give away the free report, but how will you get traffic?
- No control of what offers are sent to the list you have created
- No control of your squeeze page
- Chan promotes Clickbank products which are often of poor quality
- Upsells after signing up
- You are not taught how to create a real sustainable business
The training and tools
There are training courses that include:
- solo ads
- video marketing video tutorials
- Facebook marketing videos
- other traffic methods – Squidoo, guest blogging, press releases, viral reports, StumbleUpon, and forum marketing
- how to get traffic with Google+, Twitter, classified ads, and blog commenting
So there is some training, that shows you some of the ways you can promote your CB Passive Income squeeze page.
Help and support at CBPI
Possible to submit a query by email, but in general poor support.
How much to join?
It costs a one-time payment of $47 with a 14 day trial for $1.
Just after signing up and before you get access to the CBPI system, there are 2 upsells.
CB Passive Income Pro $97
This upsell adds subscribers to Patric Chan’s list and to your own list automatically. This way you will be able to promote your own products to the list. The CB Passive Income Pro upsell assumes that you have your own autoresponder, if not you will have to add on this cost as well. As an added bonus, you get Private Label Rights to Patric Chan’s next course The Media Traffic Vortex course.
Fast Cash Series $47 per month or $197 per year.
Each month you are given a new money-making idea, supported by manuals, reports, videos, tools, templates, checklists, or some other form of training material depending upon the revealed opportunity.
You will receive information and training on an allegedly undiscovered way of making money that has just been discovered by Chan.
My final opinion
Patric Chan says the system should normally cost $15,000. If it is really worth that much money why is he selling the system for just $47 even $1 for a 14-day trial?
Of course, Patric says that it is because he wants to help us. This is just the normal marketing ruse that is used to make the customer think they are getting a great deal. In this and most cases this just isn’t true.
CB Passive Income isn’t a scam, they do provide some training that could help someone just starting.
Building a list and then sending offers to your list is a legitimate way to earn online, but with this system, you have no control of what they will be sent or how often. For you to earn any money the people on the list will have to buy these low-quality ClickBank products.
The big question is – how will you drive traffic to your squeeze page? If you are a newbie it will be very hard and you will probably have to spend more money trying to get people to your page. For a system that claims that you don’t need to do anything except one simple task, you will have a fair amount of work and in the end, most people won’t make any money.
To build a successful online business don’t be tempted by these get rich quick schemes that work on auto-pilot like CB Passive Income. To make money online takes time and hard work.
My verdict: Not recommended

If you have any comments, questions, or if you have any experience of CBPI I would love your feedback.
Ah, the old “leave a bad review of one product and then recommend a “better” product for people to see” trick. You’re obviously an affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate trying to drive these readers to your link so you can make money. But what’s worse is you’re comparing apples and oranges. ClickBank passive income is a turnkey style business. It’s meant for those who don’t want to manage the advertising part of digital advertising. It’s not for everyone – some people want full control of their own advertising, but it will make people money. Very different style of program than Wealthy Affiliate. And I’m saying this as an independent observer, no affiliate links attached. I’m just not a fan of digital marketers making their money by bashing legitimately good products on these “bad review sites” and then promoting their own product.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am an affiliate of Wealthy Affiliate and I am willing to promote their training because I know it works.
CB Passive Income and WA are certainly not the same sorts of businesses. The problem with programs like CBPI is they make it sound too easy to make money online and people believe it, only to be disappointed. Most people will fail with CB Passive Income as they won’t know how to drive traffic to the squeeze pages they are provided with.
Wealthy Affiliate provides training to build an affiliate marketing business. There is no guarantee of success, you have to put in a lot of work and it will take time before you get your first sales. Most people don’t like to read what it really takes to be successful online but I prefer to tell the truth rather than use hype and promises of big earnings. I think one of the best ways to help people who want to build an online business is to change their mindset.
Hi man. That is a very good review. It’s true that this program has its flaws. I use it for 2 years now and I actually made sales with it. But not sitting around, doing nothing. I created a blog around one squeeze page and the people who are signing up through my affiliate link get free services from me.
Internet marketing is about the way you promote it and not the program itself. The program does what it says but is up to you to involve in it if you want results.
In my opinion, people who are saying that is a scam, don’t put up the hard work upfront!
Hi Vlad,
Pleased to read you have had some success with CB Passive Income. It’s true that you will never get anywhere if you sit around and wait for people to come to you. But I feel that this product gives people the impression that they don’t have to do much to start earning money and it will be easy. As you say this isn’t possible! Then if you manage to get people to sign up to your list you have no control over the products that are promoted to them. Something else I don’t like!
For me, internet marketing is very much about the programs you promote. I only promote programs that are legit. The most important thing for me is to have visitors that are happy with anything they purchase through my links.
All the best,
Peter
I was about considering clickbank until i read your review besides i don’t like this idea of not doing anything for passive income, from the part of the world i come we were taught anything that you don’t have any input in or contribute to will lead to nothing for you.
Thanks
Yes, you’re right, to make money online takes work and effort. Any program that tells you it’s easy and will take just a few minutes work every day isn’t telling you the truth. Driving traffic to your squeeze page won’t be easy and it will probably cost you more money to get very few people signing up to your list. It’s a much better idea, although it’s not easy, to try and create your own online business.
Thanks for your visit,
Peter
Hi Peter. Great article. Shame I’m so late to it!
Can you advise briefly, or perhaps you’ve done a similar article (?) on AffiloJetpack compared with CBPI, and even WA?
Given its much higher price, I suspect that there is more provided than with CBPI, such as the 5 websites that come with it. However it is still based on CB and likely a very similar premise to CBPI.
Your thoughts would be most valued.
Melinda.
Hi Melinda,
I haven’t reviewed AffiloJetpack, but I don’t think it’s a bad program what would put me off is the price. With Wealthy Affiliate or AffiloJetpack, there is much more information than with CB Passive Income. I would definitely try the training at WA using the free trial and then if it’s a good fit for you upgrade to premium. You will learn how to build an affiliate marketing site so you can promote any products you like, not just the ClickBank products Patrick Chan decides to send to your list.
With AffiloJetpack you get 5 sites, already set up which seems great, but you will still have to put in work writing articles and getting traffic to your site. I prefer to learn everything from the bottom up, it may take longer but once you’ve got the hang of it, you can produce more sites and more income without the risk of a big investment.
Now the choice is yours,
Peter
I really love this blog this is my topic thank God I find people that talk about the same thing I do I am doing this for years and I make lots of money online I have my own business online check out my website if you ever need help with your online business. thecbpassiveincome.dooglestore.com
Thanks, Shev. In the make money online niche, Clickbank has many products that are very low quality and won’t really help their customers. Therefore, I don’t promote many programs from their site, you really have to check out the products first so you’re not promoting any rubbish.
All the best,
Peter
Thanks for the review. I was debating purchasing this system. However, after your review, I am definitely giving it second and third thoughts. I am a member already of WA. Thanks again for the review.
I would certainly give it a miss Bruce. As you are already a member of WA you already know that building an online business takes time and effort.
These schemes that allegedly work on auto pilot just don’t work. Thanks for the comment, Peter
Hi Peter,
I was looking forward to Patric Chan’s Click Bank passive income system. But after reading your review of this product, it sounds like it’s another gigantic waste of time. Another system that is inadequate at teaching people what the really want to know – how to make online money for real.
Very good review and very convincing as to why this CB passive income system is not worth the time nor money. At least you give us a good alternative to a real online educational system for potential internet marketers.
WA is where I got started making money online through affiliate marketing and I love it.
Thanks for another excellent review,
Todd
Hi Todd,
The two main issues with this product are the problems a newbie would have getting traffic and the fact that you have no control of what is sent out to your list. Not to mention all the hype that gives you the impression that the system will work on auto pilot.
As you are already with Wealthy Affiliate you know that building an online business takes a lot of time and hard work. But if you choose a niche that you are interested in, perhaps a hobby or a pastime, it really can be quite enjoyable.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Todd.
Cheers, Peter
Wow. Its a real eye opener for me. I always wanted to try out CB Passive Income and now thanks to you, I do not need to waste my money on this program anymore. I will definitely check out Wealthy Affiliate. It seem like a good program for me to kick start my online career.
Cheers!
Jack
Yea Jack, don’t try CBPI unless you are an expert in getting traffic. This is another system that sounds good but does not give you all the details before you sign-up.
You would do much better trying Wealthy Affiliate where you have some great training and support. Thanks for your comment Jack.
Hi Peter,
It looks like this is another program that’s built on leaving out all the important details that are associated with starting up an online business. These Internet marketing gurus make it seem like all you need to do is buy into their program, setup their software and get ready to watch the money start rolling in.
It’s programs like these that make me sick to my stomach and I’m so glad that you are exposing them on your website. Anyone looking to have a successful online business should definitely avoid this program at all costs.
Scott
Yes, that is very true Scott. The IM gurus make it seem so simple but the newbies who sign up for a program like this will have a lot of trouble making any money. I know it’s human nature, but anyone looking to earn some money online should stay away from any scheme that says it’s possible to earn money quickly with doing virtually nothing.
Building an online business takes time, a lot of effort and discipline.
Many thanks for your comment, Peter
