Hello Peter,
This will probably be the simplest request you have ever received (and then again, it might be the most difficult to answer and resolve). My son set up a basic website then handed it over to me, as he was moving forward with his own. And if I could be blunt, I know less about running a website, or organizing it than someone who has never even owned a computer. I can make posts and comment on other’s websites, so I know the basics that a remedial knows how to do…make posts on Facebook, use email, copy and send websites and posts to others, copy and paste links etc. But when I open the administrator’s page and want to do edits or add information, I’m lost! What would you recommend that a kindergartner do when handed a college test on Calculus. My 1+1=2 and 2+2+4 just doesn’t make it. I guess I need to find somebody who lives in my area to give me a hand. Any other suggestions?
Hi Christopher,
Yes, if you could find someone near you that would be great otherwise you can find some online courses or articles that may help.
Your site is built with WordPress so this article might help. Scroll down to “Item 4. Customizing and Choosing A Blog Theme” and the author goes through the different items on the WordPress dashboard and more explanations further down the page. It might be enough to give you a better understanding of the dashboard. If not you could try some online courses on Udemy, I see they have a free WordPress course for beginners
Hope that helps,
Peter
Hello Peter,
I have read your review about making money on online surveys. I have stumbled in your site when I’m looking for information regarding this survey site, iglobalsurveys. Have you come across this site? May I ask for your opinion regarding this site? are they legit? I’m seeking for information before I join their site. I do value your opinion regarding this matter. Thank you very much.
Hi Ben,
I’m not familiar with this site, so I can’t tell you anything about them. All I would say is surveys are largely a waste of time and is not something I recommend. You spend so long filling them out for a very small return or sometimes after 15 minutes of filling in details you are told you don’t qualify for the survey, so you have wasted your time.
All the best,
Peter
Hello Peter,
I came across your site and your review of Simple Site Big Profits after finding Marcus and watching some of his material about affiliate marketing. I try to be prudent in all things but especially when it comes to the area of anything online (and particularly anyone selling anything online). I liked that Marcus came across as knowlegeable and that he claims to have many year of experience and success in the industry and I also liked the fact that Marcus came across as casual, down-to-earth and honest. All that being said, there is an element of too good to be true and with a $300 price tag for the Simple Sites Big Profits software/toolbar/training I didn’t want to jump in too quick. I am an absolute novice when it comes to making money online in any shape or form (save selling a few things through ebay and Craigslist) so determining how legitimate an offer or technique or speciliazation, etc is presents a challenge. That said, I appreciate your review and the feedback of those who have experience with Marcus’ program(s).
I would love to be able to earn a living doing the things that Marcus talks about – especially given that I am a single parent helping to take care of an ailing family member – but I am concerned that the likelihood of doing so is slim to none. I certainly do not want to waste any time or money which is why I am taking a cautious approach and trying to do my due diligence. Do you have any input or advise as to how legitimate (whether or not there is even a remote chance of being successful (i.e. making a solid annual income)) affiliate marketing is for the average novice. Additionally do your have any words of wisdom about earning a living online in general? I do like that you have recommended Wealthy Affiliate and I will take a look at what they have to offer. Any other advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi Jim,
You’re certainly right to be prudent with the things we see online, especially in the make money online niche. One of the problems with these products is that the people selling them always seem knowledgeable, likeable and trustworthy. They’re good salesmen and sometimes they couldn’t care less if they are selling something of value or not. I wouldn’t say Marcus is necessarily like that but some of the comments I’ve had since doing the review mean I wouldn’t recommend Simple Sites.
I understand you would like to earn money online and it is possible. But one thing I think people should know it’s not a question of creating a site and earning money the next day as Marcus suggests. From my own experience to start earning money takes time and hard work. The important thing is when you start you must not give up and in the end you will start earning some money. Personally, it took me nearly a year before I got my first paycheck, but I have another business and I can’t devote much time to my online business.
I would certainly try the free trial at Wealthy Affiliate. For the last couple of years I have been reviewing online programs and there are a few legitimate programs that teach you how to earn money online, however, the training at Wealthy Affiliate is far superior plus the active community and tools mean you have everything you need in one place.
Apart from affiliate marketing if you’re new to the online world, I don’t recommend any other ways of earning money online, unless perhaps you enjoy writing, you could try your hand as a freelance writer. If I can be of any further help, Jim, let me know.
All the best,
Peter
Hi Peter,
I am interest for an affiliated product. At first I discovered a product and tried to find reviews. I found your blog which obviously directs to WA.
I studied the products site and realized that it offers affiliated services of niche products that you chose. Please correct me if i am wrong. Once again i tried to confirm whether the product is a spam or not.
To my surprise i was keep finding reviews exactly from persons like you who have the same exact blog recommending a small number of products, even none, but only WA and not recommending a big number of products and your excuse was that the product has the same 8-10 pros and a couple of cons by all of you guys.
More over none of you guys do not say your full name to make a search on facebook or linkedin, especially the two owners Kyle and Carson.
My interest is to be an affiliate entrepreneur, and from what i understand is that you are affiliate marketers of the specific product.
I need to know whether WA university offers training for other niche products than online marketing
Thanks
Constantinos
Hi Constantinos,
I understand your suspicion with the positive reviews of Wealthy Affiliate. There are many reviews online that are written for the sole purpose of making money from the products they promote. However, I have been with WA more than a year now and if I wasn’t happy with the program I certainly wouldn’t continue to pay my subscription. If you want to see what it’s all about you can join for free, so they are not trying to hide anything from you.
The full names of Kyle and Carson are: Kyle Loudoun and Carson Lim. Feel free to do your research.
It’s true, I am promoting Wealthy Affiliate and a few other products that I consider to be legitimate on my site letsworkonline.net, but you are free to promote any product you choose. With WA you can create a business around any niche you like and they have training for choosing your niche in the free lessons when you sign up for the free membership.
To get a better idea, I recommend trying the starter account and test it out.
If I can be of any further help let me know.
Peter
