Instead, get specific with your location, so your customers can find you. You could try something like ”Dallas digital marketing firms”. Since this is a long-tail keyword that you have a hope of ranking for.
Customers looking for location-specific businesses would be typing in a long-tail keyword to get the exact results they’re looking for.
Using long-tail, ultra-specific keywords will give you a much better chance of increasing your organic traffic.

Keyword research is very important. You need to find keywords that have some searches but aren’t too competitive. If you’re ranking on the first pages of Google and Bing then you’re definitely doing well, as long as your keywords are getting some searches. Be patient and keep adding new content. So pleased you found this information useful. Keep doing your keyword research, finding those low competition keywords that get some traffic. Although when you’re starting you may want to go after keywords that get high traffic, aim for keywords that have low competition. Yes, these keywords will have less traffic but you will be able to rank on the first pages of Google for theses keywords, which means you will get some traffic to your site.

Hi there, Just wanted to ask where about in a post is it best to place keywords?
I usually go for putting them into my headline and also in my first paragraph. Is this enough?
Also my website is targeted to a niche group for beauty professionals. Should I, if I am targeting USA….AND European markets, use all the keywords that relate to one profession title across the globe, i.e. beauty therapist, beauticians. esthetician, spa therapist…..basically they all mean the same thing, but different countries use different names.

You should try and put your keywords in your: title, URL, first paragraph, meta description and in the alt tag of one of your images. This post explains on page SEO.
I would target the keywords that relate to the USA, it’s probably your biggest market. You can use the variations in your articles where it makes sense and also perhaps in the alt tags of your images. I think most people would understand the first three words as being the same but a spa therapist… seems to be different to me! Hope that helps!

Great article on keywords, I do use a keyword tool that shows me the average searches and competition for the keywords. I am wondering what is the best way to use keywords, should I use my main keywords in the headline and a couple of times in the article, or should I have the main keywords in the headline and use a bunch of related keywords in the body of the article?

Great to hear you’re using a keyword tool, it’s important to target keywords you can rank for. Use your main keywords in your title, in your first paragraph and then in your article where it seems natural. Using related keywords in the body of your article is also very good.
A couple of other places I always try to include my keywords is in the meta description and the alt tag of one image.
